Laura Fawcett, DPT, OCS
Integrated Sports Medicine Physical Therapy of Lansdowne
I graduated from the University of Virginia in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Medicine and Kinesiology. I then attended the University of Pittsburgh where I graduated with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree in 2009. I have continued to pursue educational courses to expand my skills and am currently certified in Functional Dry Needling, Graston provider, Orthopedic Certified Specialist, Barbell Rehab Certified and a Running Specialist.
I have focused my career in outpatient orthopedic, sports and athletic injuries rehab. I particularly enjoy working with runners of all ages and levels and strive to keep you running to the best of my ability. As an avid runner myself, I am in a unique position to understand how injuries can sideline you and the desire to get back to normal. I provide running video gait analysis as well as prescribing running specific strength programs and recommendations for training to remain injury free.
I treat a wide range of running related injuries to include bone stress injuries, tendon injuries, hip and knee pain and return to running following an acute injury or surgery. I also have experience treating a variety of post-surgical cases and low back pain.
I enjoy reading books to further my knowledge of strength training, cross-training, and running techniques/mechanics and general fitness and enjoy taking classes to stay up to date on current treatment recommendations. I truly enjoy learning.
In my spare time I love to run, cycle, strength train and hike. My favorite distance is the half marathon. I enjoy spending time with my husband and relaxing on the weekends enjoying nature.
