Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
Integrated Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy of Loudoun and Fairfax

I was an NCAA Division I college soccer player at Hofstra University, graduating in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology. I have been a physical therapist for 11 years, graduating summa cum laude from Old Dominion University in 2001 with a Master of Physical Therapy Degree. I became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association in 2002. In 2007, I became a board-certified Orthopedic Certified Specialist as recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association. I completed my Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2010 from Virginia Commonwealth University. I am a current member of the American Physical Therapy Association, including the orthopedic, sports, and private practice sections.

I have always worked in the orthopedic setting with my main emphasis on sport-specific rehabilitation. I work with all athletes, from amateur to professional. I have significant experience with the post-operative population and non-surgical orthopedic diagnoses. I am a huge believer in core stabilization and hip girdle strengthening for all patients. I use a wide variety of treatment techniques to include neuromuscular re-education, PNF, concentric and eccentric strengthening, muscle energy techniques, manual therapy, Kinesio Taping, and modalities as needed. I treat the whole kinetic chain and do not just focus on the local injury site. I also treat mild vestibular disorders such as BPPV.

I am also a huge believer in injury prevention training, pre-season training, and cross-training. I have worked with teams and individuals in the pre-season and post-rehabilitation setting emphasizing biomechanics for injury prevention and safe return to sport.

My personal opinion is that every patient should receive the one to one and hands-on care they deserve. It is, for this reason, I left the corporate healthcare setting and opened Integrated Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy of Loudoun, LLC in February of 2007. I then opened Integrated Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy of Fairfax, LLC in August of 2008. At Integrated we strive to meet this objective with every patient, providing them the best rehabilitative care possible in a fun environment. I have enjoyed every minute since we opened and am looking forward to making even more lasting relationships in the local communities.
