Nichole Muzina, MPT, OCS
Orthopedic Certified Specialist
Integrated Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy of Leesburg / Lansdowne
I was born and raised in Bucks County, just outside of Philadelphia. I was introduced to the world of physical therapy after I was in a car accident when I was in the 4th grade. I was discharged before my family members and was then allowed to ‘help’ with their therapy. I was active in school, playing soccer and swimming for the varsity team in high school and luckily never had to return to therapy. However, the interest with the profession stuck.
I attended the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, graduating cum laude in 2001 with a Bachelors degree in Health Sciences and a Masters degree in Physical Therapy. The day after I graduated I moved to Virginia to live with my future husband.
I have been working in outpatient orthopedics for the past eleven years, all here in Northern Virginia. I became a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist in 2007. Currently I am taking continuing education classes in order to obtain my Manual certification. My career has been focused on treating a variety of sports and orthopedic injuries. I also have significant experience with post-operative and spinal injuries. I am a firm believer that posture can play a big part in predisposing an individual for injury. Therefore, I treat the whole anatomical and physiological kinetic chain, not just the individual injury site, in order to restore a patient’s function.
