Lizzy Javier, PT
I graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. Since then, I have continued taking educational courses focused on treating work, sports, and orthopedic injuries.
For the last 20 years, I have worked for private practice, orthopedic based Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Clinics. Over that time, I have experience treating patients of all ages with a variety of orthopedic diagnosis and sports injuries. I utilized manual base treatments in conjunction with strengthening and flexibility programs to improve dynamic stability and mobility emphasizing proper body mechanics.
Prior to practicing in an outpatient sports medicine setting, I specialized in industrial rehab, where I not only treated the injured worker/patient but also design injury prevention programs for companies and trained the employees and employers in how to prevent injuries on the job.
Since October 2016, I am a certified provider of the Graston Technique method of instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, which includes diagnostic and therapeutic applications and procedures.
Also, I am certified, in the Spanish language, as an Interpreter in Health and Community Settings.
In my free time, I volunteer at Briggs Animal Adoption Center (BAAC), a no kill animal shelter in West Virginia. I am an acrylic artist and paint both realistic and abstract.
