Owner of Integrated Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy
I was a NCAA Division I college soccer player at Hofstra University, graduating in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology. I have been a physical therapist for more than 7 years, graduating summa cum laude from Old Dominion University in 2001. I then became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association in 2002. I have always worked in the orthopedic setting with the main emphasis on sport specific rehabilitation. I have worked with athletes ranging from amateur to professional status. I have significant experience with post-operative patients and the general orthopedic population. I am a huge believer in core stabilization and hip girdle strengthening for all patients and especially those with lumbar dysfunction. I use a wide range of treatment techniques to include neuromuscular re-education, PNF, concentric and eccentric strengthening, muscle energy techniques, manual therapy, and modalities as needed. I treat the whole kinetic chain and do not focus on just the local injury site. I also treat mild vestibular disorders such as BPPV. I am also co-owner of Competitive Edge Sport Performance Training, LLC. With this company I do preseason training for teams and individuals, emphasizing biomechanics for injury prevention as well as post rehabilitation to better prepare the patient to safely return to their sport or activity. This also extends my services to my patients and allows me to work with them in the post rehabilitation setting. My personal opinion is that every patient should receive the one to one and hands on care they deserve. At Integrated we strive to meet this objective with every patient, providing them the best rehabilitative care possible in a fun environment. I look forward to building a successful practice and making lasting relationships in the community.
