DPT
I was born in Texas and lived in several places across the country finally landing in Virginia Beach. Growing up I was always very active and was an all around athlete, participating in field hockey, soccer, and swimming. Currently I am an avid runner, swimmer, occasional cyclist and regularly weight train. I graduated from the University of Virginia in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Medicine with high honors. In pursuit of my goal to become a physical therapist, I attended the University of Pittsburgh where I graduated with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree in 2009. While at the University of Pittsburgh my internships focused on outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine to include general orthopedic and overuse injuries, post-operative patients, and patients suffering from low back and neck pain. I also participated in elective courses focused on the advanced treatment of lower extremity orthopedic injuries as well as treatment of the cervical and thoracic spine with mobilizations and therapeutic exercise. I most enjoy working with all types of patients using a hands on approach to treat not only the injury, but the entire kinetic chain above and below and delivering the best care possible in a fun environment.
